A technical assistance team within the Secretariat of the OACPS has been established to augment the Secretariat’s capacity to effectively monitor and coordinate ClimSA and support and assist countries, regions of the OACPS and in particular the participating Regional Climate Centre (RCCs). Strengthening scientific knowledge on climate, including research, systematic observation of the climate system and early warning systems, in a manner that informs climate services and supports decision-making is a central objective.

The technical assistance team ensures intra-regional coordination and exchange within and between the six regions of the OACPS to strengthen cooperation, collaboration and capacities of RCCs to achieve international certification in the provision of quality services.
